Bob Pest

Bob Pest is a radical ruralist who lives in a log home on a dirt road in rural Independence County with his wife
Judy and their three dogs—Whimsy, Susannah, and Tessa. Pest is the president and co-founder of Ozark
Foothills FilmFest. He also teaches film courses at the University of Arkansas Community College at
Batesville.
He is well-known to viewers of AETN for his regular appearances during pledge drives. He
worked for the AETN Foundation for over twelve years before leaving that position to launch his own rural
community development consulting firm. He writes about food, community development, rural life, travel,
music, and film. Pest holds degrees from Carnegie-Mellon University and the University
of Pittsburgh. He also writes for
NUMBER, a Memphis arts magazine.
