Jack is a contributing writer for Life In The Ozarks and has written stories
about growing up in Clarksville, Arkansas and stories of hidden treasures.

The son of John H. and Jessie M. Russell, Jack was born in 1939. He attended school in Clarksville, Arkansas where he graduated in 1957. After graduation he moved to Pocatello, Idaho where he worked on a ranch for a few months, then went to work for the J. R. Simplot Company in Pocatello, Idaho, the later part of July 1957. In December 1957 he joined the Army, then took basic training in Fort Ord, California. He went to special electronics school in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. From there he was shipped to Stuttgart, Germany in the summer of 1958 and assigned to the 34th signal battalion as a power man. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant or the rank of E.5. He returned to the United States in the summer of 1960 and was sent to Fort Lewis, Washington and was discharged from the Army in December of 1960.

He went back to work for the J.R. Simplot Company in January 1961 and worked for them until 1985. In the summer of 1985 he started my own painting business and continued as a painting contractor until he retired in 1995. In the summer of 1961 Jack met a young lady, Sunne Wilkinson, in Caldwell, Idaho. They were married June 9,1962. They have be together ever since.

Along with running a business, he is also a minister, and though he is now retired from secular work, he continues to be very active as a minister and in his spare time as a hobby he has been writing stories, as well as playing around with a metal detector.
