Lula 'Lu' Holeman Poor
Lu writes the column 'Small Towns in the Ozarks' and occasionally 'Traditions in the Ozarks'.
She is a retired teacher, former exchange student area representative and host, and last, but most important, a mom, grandmother and GREAT-grandmother. Other than writing, she enjoys gardening, reading, sewing, crafts and special time with her family. She lives at Letona, AR, with her pastor husband, his son Wayne, their dogs Sam and Gidget and a backyard full of cats.
"As far as I am concerned, the best part of writing for Life in the Ozarks is the trips Alice and I take to do research," says Lu. She has one self-published book on the market, Small Towns in the Ozarks, Vol 1, and is working on Vol ll. Lu has written "Sharecropper's Daughter", a book about growing up in the Arkansas Delta, which is scheduled to be in print this summers.
